September 12, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3000 Golfcrest Street about 6:40 p.m. on Monday (September 11).  

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer C. Song reported:  

The male drove a white Chevrolet Eco Van into a private driveway at the above address and was told to leave.  As the male was leaving, he backed the van into a ditch, knocking him unconscious.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male to St. Joseph's Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  

A preliminary investigation and witness statements indicated the male stole the van from another residence in the day. 

The investigation is continuing.
