September 7, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10700 Westheimer Road about 11:35 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 6).

The identity of the victim, 23, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer F. Flynn reported:

The victim was operating a grey Kawasaki motorcycle westbound at the above address.  A white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Westheimer and pulling a trailer.  As the Chevrolet turned left into a parking lot, the trailer went into the lane of the Kawasaki and the motorcyclist struck the trailer.

Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the motorcyclist to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where doctors later pronounced him deceased.

The driver of the Chevrolet, who remained at the scene, did not show any signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.  

The investigation is continuing.
