September 7, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 1406 Hays Street about 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday (September 6).  

The identity of the woman, 18, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and L. Kauffman reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in a parking lot at the above address and found the victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  

At least one other person was present at the time of the shooting.  No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
