October 9, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7715 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) that occurred about 10:35 p.m. on Saturday (October 7).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer J. Bibb reported:

According to a witness, the male was walking on the freeway main lanes from east to west near the above address when he was struck by a bronze GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling southbound on the freeway. Houston Fire Department pronounced the male deceased.

The male driver of the Sierra, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
