November 7, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5800 Westheimer Road about 10:45 p.m. on Monday (November 6).  

The identity of the deceased male, 64, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer J. Bibb reported:  

Witnesses stated the male was drinking outside a convenience store at the above address and was asked by security to leave the area.  He left and immediately ran across Westheimer Road - not in a crosswalk -  and was struck by a silver Honda Accord traveling eastbound.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.  

The female driver, 31, of the Honda, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
