May 30, 2023 - Houston police have learned a woman critically injured in a crash at 6108 South Rice Avenue about 12:45 p.m. on May 23 has died.

The identity of the victim, 83, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer E. Rubio reported:

The female and a male were inside a business at the above address when a black Chevrolet Malibu struck the front of the business.  The crash injured the female and male and both were transported to area hospitals where doctors pronounced the female deceased on Sunday (May 28).  

The male driver, 90, did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time.  

The investigation is continuing.
