March 30, 2023 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 6001 Bissonnet Street about 11:55 p.m. on March 18.  

The suspect, Rolando Diaz, 51, is charged with murder in the 185th State District Court.  A booking photo of Diaz is attached to this news release.  

The victim is identified as Denis A. Granados, 47.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Persad and Detective L. Gonzales reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to an assault in-progress call at the above address and found the victim in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately provided first aid to victim and Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.

At that time, the suspect was described only as a Hispanic male, 45 to 50 years of age, between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 9 inches tall.  

Further investigation identified Diaz as the suspect in this case.  On Wednesday (March 29), Diaz was arrested by members of the HPD Crime Suppression Team.  Diaz was interviewed by HPD homicide detectives and subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
