June 16, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1300 South State Highway 6 about 8:35 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased female victim, 22, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer M. Mathews reported:

The victim was a passenger in a black Chevrolet Equinox traveling southbound at the above address when her driver failed to maintain a single lane, drove into a ditch and rolled over. Paramedics transported the woman to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The male driver, 21, was not injured. He was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time. The investigation is continuing.
