June 12, 2023 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a female found at 10220 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 5:30 p.m. on Friday (June 9).

The identity and cause of death of the female are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Montalvo reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a suspicious event call at the above address. Officers arrived and noticed a strong odor coming from a rental truck and found the deceased female in the storage area of the truck. The truck was parked in the rental storage lot.

The investigation is pending the person's cause of death.
