July 31, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6600 Del Rio Street that occurred about 11 p.m. last Friday (July 28).  

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer N. Kumar reported:  

The driver of a gray Tesla T3 was traveling at a high rate of speed near the above address when the driver lost control and struck a tree.  The vehicle then caught fire.  The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Bystanders were able to pull the female passenger from the vehicle and she was transported to an area hospital.

The investigation is continuing.
