July 24, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of four other men at 9263 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 4:30 a.m. on Sunday (July 23).

The identity of the deceased male, 22, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  The four other male victims range in age from 20 to 28. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective C. Bowling reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call outside an after-hours bar at the above address and found multiple persons with gunshot wounds.  Paramedics transported three victims to area hospitals.  One male was later pronounced deceased.  A fourth victim was transported in a private vehicle to a hospital.  A fifth victim, with a gunshot wound to the foot, refused medical attention at the scene.

At this time, there is no known suspect description.  No managers or owners of the bar could be located during the scene investigation.
