July 24, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 5399 Collingsworth Street about 2:40 a.m. on Sunday (July 23).  

The identity of the deceased female, 50, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and R. Guzman reported:  

The female was driving a black Dodge Charger southbound on Lockwood Drive and attempted to make a left turn onto Collingsworth Street.  The driver lost control and the vehicle struck two curbs and then a utility pole.  The Charger flipped as a result of the impact.  

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the female deceased.  

No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.
