July 17, 2023 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a female that occurred at 400 Greens Road about 10:15 a.m. on June 7, 2022. 

The suspect, Christian Ramirez, 17, is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Kierra Blackshear, 17. A booking photo of Ramirez is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Condon and J. Brown reported:  

Multiple persons were inside an apartment at the above address when one of the persons fired at least one shot.  The victim, Ms. Blackshear, was struck by the gunfire.  The shooter and several witnesses present at the time also fled the scene .  

Further investigation identified Ramirez as the suspect in this case.  Ramirez was taken into custody by Wharton County Sheriff's Office on July 19, 2022, and was referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a murder charge..  On June 28, 2023, Ramirez was certified as an adult and was transferred to the custody of the Harris County Joint Processing Center.

Marcus Haynes, initially identified as a person of interest in this case, was questioned and released with no charges filed.
