July 10, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a juvenile female at 7500 Bellfort Avenue about 7:25 p.m. on Sunday (July 9).

The victim, 7, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives R. Cook and M. Deleon reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address and were advised the victim was a passenger in her mother's vehicle when she was shot by an unknown male driving a black Lexus.  The child suffered wounds to her leg and thigh.  Paramedics transported her to a hospital.

Detectives were told the mother (driving one vehicle) and male suspect were involved in a road rage incident that led to the suspect firing shots at the woman's vehicle. 

The investigation is ongoing.
