July 6, 2023 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 2900 Trail Lake Drive about 5:30 p.m. on May 27.  

The suspect, Charles Anthony Hudson, 18, is charged with capital murder in the 351st State District Court.  A booking photo of Hudson is attached to this news release.  

The victim is identified as Hector Torres, 43.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Stroble and Detective K. Collier reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a robbery at the above address and found Mr. Torres unresponsive with a gunshot wound.  Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Torres deceased.  

A preliminary investigation determined Torres was employed as a rideshare drive and he was shot during a robbery.  Torres' vehicle was stolen during the robbery and later recovered nearby.  

Further investigation identified Hudson as the suspect in this case.  He was arrested on Wednesday (July 5) and subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
