July 5, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash in the 300 block of North Main Street about 3:55 a.m. today (July 5).

The identity of the deceased male, 25, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer J. Campbell reported:

The male was driving silver Chevrolet Impala southbound near the above address when, for unknown reasons, the Chevrolet drove into the center median under the elevated portion of a METRO rail. The vehicle struck the center concrete support pillar. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
