January 30, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 9407 Westheimer Road about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday (Jan. 29).

The identity of the victim, 19, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Sharp and E. May reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the 9400 block of Westheimer Road and observed the unresponsive victim with a gunshot wound.  Paramedics transported the woman to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Detectives learned the victim was struck while inside of a vehicle near the intersection of Westheimer Road at Fondren Road.  At this time, there is no known suspect or wanted vehicle description.
