January 25, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 1500 South Shepherd Drive about 4:30 a.m. today (Jan. 26).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer M. Lares reported:

The victim was riding a motorized bicycle southbound at the above address when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model. The victim lost control of the bicycle, went over the curb and came to a stop on the sidewalk, west of the roadway. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

The driver of the unknown vehicle failed to stop and render aid.
