January 9, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1600 North Loop West (North Interstate Highway 610 West) about 6:50 p.m. last Friday (January 6).  

The identity of the deceased male, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer D. Jones reported:  

The male was operating a yellow Honda CBR motorcycle eastbound near the above address and weaving between vehicles when he struck a white vehicle of unknown make or model and fell from the motorcycle.  The motorcyclist fell near the rear axel of a Freightliner tractor trailer truck and was struck.  

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics.  The white vehicle did not remain at the scene.  The driver of the 18-wheeler remained at the scene and was questioned and released, pending further investigation. 

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
