January 9, 2023 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male at 12200 Greenspoint Drive about 3:50 p.m. last Friday (January 6).  

The suspect, Desmond Deshun Green, 21, is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court.  A booking photo of Green is attached to this news release.  

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Graf II and E. Torres II reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim being treated by Houston Fire Department paramedics.  The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  A possible suspect, later identified as Green, was detained at the scene.  

Further investigation and witness statements indicated the shooting was a result of an altercation between Green and the victim at a bus stop.  The verbal altercation escalated, Green pulled a pistol and shot the victim.  The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and Green was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
