February 27, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 3400 W. Airport Blvd. about 7:35 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 26).

The identity of the deceased male, 35, is pending notification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer J. Rangel repoted:

The driver (victim) of a black Kia Forte was traveling east on W. Airport when he crossed the median and entered the westbound lanes of W. Airport. He then struck a red Dodge Avenger at a high rate of speed. The driver of the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Responding officers observed multiple open cans of alcohol inside the Kia.

The investigation is continuing.
