February 10, 2023 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1023 Hogan Street about 9:40 p.m. on January 4.

The suspect, Valerio Rodriguez, 37, is charged with murder in the 184th State District Court.

The victim is identified as James Henry Durr, 26.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Arrington and Detective L. Kauffman reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a gas station at the above address and located the unresponsive victim inside the store. He had suffered a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the man, later identified as Mr. Durr, to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Further investigation identified the suspect as Rodriguez and, on Thursday (February 9) he was arrested and subsequently charged in this incident.
