December 11, 2023 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a person found at 14500 Nelson Street about 6:30 a.m. on Saturday (December 9).

The identity, gender and cause of death of the person are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Cass and Detective J. Wallschlaeger reported:

HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a vehicle fire on the side of the street at the above address. Upon extinguishing the fire, HFD paramedics found the body of a person in the trunk of the vehicle.

The investigation is pending the person's manner and cause of death.
