August 31, 2023 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 4801 Allendale Road about 1:15 a.m. on July 7.

The suspect, Francisco Gonzalez, 18, is charged with capital murder in the 351st State District Court. A booking photo of Gonzalez is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the killing of Hector Castillejos-Arce, 46.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark, M. Nicotra, J. Escobar and M. Perez reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a discharge of firearms call at an apartment complex at the above address and found the victim inside a vacant unit. He had suffered at least one gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man, later identified as Mr. Castillejos-Arce, deceased at the scene.

Neighbors heard gunshots and then what sounded like a person jumping from a second floor window onto the grass. At the time, there was no known motive or suspect(s).

Further investigation identified the suspect as Gonzalez, who was already in custody on unrelated charges. He was charged today (Aug. 31) in this fatal shooting case.
