August 15, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4900 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 9:30 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 14).

The identity of the deceased male, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer N. Kumar reported:

The male was operating a red Suzuki SV6 motorcycle in the northbound lanes of the freeway at the above address and exited to the 610 North Loop West (North Interstate Highway 610 West) ramp. While taking the curve on the ramp, the male failed to maintain a single lane, lost control of the motorcycle and struck a concrete wall. The impact caused the male to fall from the ramp to a grassy field below. Paramedics transported the man to Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
