August 4, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman at 3003 Seagler Road about 6:15 p.m. on July 1.

The suspect, Letrahder Ahhvaylle, 56, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 338th State District Court. A booking photo of Ahhvaylle is attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Deandre Bowie, 40.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives H. Martinez and S. Chettry reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call to a parking garage of the apartment complex at the above address and found the victim unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced the man, alter identified as Mr. Bowie, deceased.

Officers later learned a female victim, 25, was admitted to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to her leg. It was determined both incidents were related.

At that time, a witness observed a black male running away from the scene with a gun in his hand.

Further investigation identified Ahhvaylle as the suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged for his role. On Thursday (August 3), Ahhvaylle was arrested without incident and booked into the Harris County Jail.
