April 19, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1001 Hidden Valley Drive about 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday (April 18).

The identity of the deceased female, 80, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer N. Luu reported:

The female was driving a white Ford Edge eastbound on Hidden Valley and a male driver, 55, of a black Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound on Bunny Run Drive. Preliminary investigation indicates both drivers disregarded the 4-way stop signs at the intersection of Hidden Valley and Bunny Run Drive and the Ford struck the Toyota, causing minor damage.

It's believed the female driver suffered a medical episode and Houston Fire Department paramedics transported her to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, where doctors pronounced her deceased.

The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and did not show signs of intoxication. He was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
