April 18, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 8700 Tidwell Road about 9:40 p.m. on Monday (April 17).
vThe identity of the deceased male, believed to be in his 50s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer R. Ramos reported:

A male driver, 22, of a black Acura TL was traveling eastbound at the above address when the vehicle struck a bicyclist crossing the street, going northbound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male bicyclist to a Ben Taub Hospital, where doctors later pronounced him deceased.

The driver of the Acura remained at the scene and did not show signs of intoxication. He was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
