April 6, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 100 North Sam Houston Parkway East about 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday (April 5).

The identity of the deceased female, 57, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer K. Stanley reported:

The female was driving a silver Nissan Rogue eastbound at the above address when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. A witness stopped and called 9-1-1. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.

It is believed the driver may have suffered a medical episode just prior to the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
