September 30, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 8800 Westpark Drive about 6:55 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 29).

The identity of the deceased male, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer S. Le reported:

The male was operating a black Honda Grom (moped) westbound at the above address when he ran the red light at the Fondren Drive intersection and was struck by a gray Land Rover traveling southbound on Fondren. 

Paramedics transported the male to Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  The male driver, 43, of the Land Rover was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
