September 6, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7100 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 1:15 a.m. on Monday (Sept. 5).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Trevino reported:

The male was driving a white Ford E-350 van westbound on the eastbound lanes of the freeway at the above address when the van struck the concrete HOV wall.  The impact caused the van to catch fire.  Houston firefighters responded and pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.

No other vehicles or persons were involved.  The investigation is continuing.
