Investigation into Shooting Incident in 5500 block of August Hill Drive
November 28, 2022 - Houston police are investigating an incident in which two HPD officers discharged their duty weapons at a male in the 5500 block of August Hill Drive about 10:50 p.m. on November 23.
No one was injured.
Officers T. Lindsey and O. Sampson, who discharged their duty weapons, are assigned to the Kingwood Patrol Division and were sworn in as HPD officers in January 2016 and June 2008, respectively.
HPD Special Investigations Unit Sergeant E. Wohlgemuth and Detectives J. Kosler, C. Walker and D. Escobar reported:
Two HPD officers responded to a hold-up/panic alarm call at a residence in the above block number. Officers checked the perimeter of the house and, as they approached the back porch, the officers saw a male come up to a window and point a gun at them. Fearing for their safety, the officers discharged their duty weapons.
Further investigation determined the male was the homeowner of the residence.
As is customary in HPD officer-involved shooting incidents in the city limits, this case is being investigated by the HPD Special Investigations Unit and the Internal Affairs Division.
