May 31, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6100 Westheimer Road about 10:15 p.m. on Monday (May 30).  

The identity of the male victim, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer J. Roberson reported:  

 A bicyclist was traveling southbound near the above address and was struck by a white Nissan Altima.  The driver of the Altima, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired, however he was arrested for unrelated municipal warrants.  

According to witnesses, the driver of the Altima was on his cellphone and exceeding the speed limit at the time of the crash.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
