May 10, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6700 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) about 5:25 a.m. today (May 10).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer J. Tran reported:

The male, a pedestrian, attempted to cross the main lanes of the freeway at the above address and was struck by a white Kenworth tractor-trailer traveling westbound.  Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

The driver of the 18-wheeler remained at the scene.  He was questioned and released after investigators determined he was not impaired.  

The investigation is continuing.
