March 17, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one juvenile male and the wounding of a second juvenile male at 200 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) about 12:50 a.m. today (March 17).

The identity of the deceased victim, 13, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  The other victim, also 13, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Bowling and C. LaFour reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting on the main lanes of the freeway at the above address and found the victims inside a vehicle.  Both suffered gunshot wounds.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the driver to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  The second victim was transported to a hospital. 

A third juvenile male, also in the vehicle, was uninjured.  That male stated to officers that a suspect(s) in a black Chevrolet Tahoe began shooting at them and then fled the scene.  At this time, there is no suspect description or known motive in the shooting.
