March 14, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 2800 Fountain View Drive about 7:20 p.m. last Friday (March 11).

The suspect, Erica Marie Phillips, 40, is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 248th State District Court.  A booking photo of Phillips, who remains hospitalized, is not available for release at this time.  

The identity of the female victim, 50, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer D. Ortega reported:

The victim was a passenger in a white Toyota Rav4 traveling northbound at the above address when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete pole in the median. 

Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.  Phillips, the driver of the Toyota, was transported to an area hospital for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.  She was determined to be intoxicated and was subsequently charged.
