June 16, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman at 7915 De Priest Street about 10:10 p.m. on Wednesday (June 15).

The identity of the male victim, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The female victim, 23, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective S. Overstreet reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a convenience store parking lot at the above address. The officers observed the female victim had a gunshot wound and paramedics transported her to a hospital where she is expected to recover. Officers were notified another victim was brought by private vehicle to United Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Witnesses stated the shooting began between the male victim and an unknown suspect, and the female victim was struck in the crossfire. The unknown suspect then fled the scene.
