June 14, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 8115 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 8 p.m. on Monday (June 13).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives B. Stephens and C. Vaughn reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to the parking lot of a gas station at the above address and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.

Investigators were advised the victim was one of four people in a vehicle traveling near the 8600 block of Glenvista Road when someone shot at them. The suspect(s)'s vehicle is described only as a black Toyota SUV. Investigators were advised the SUV drove beside the victim's vehicle and someone inside the SUV opened fire. The victim was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver then drove to the gas station to obtain assistance.

At this time, there is no known suspect(s) or motive in the shooting.
