Suspect Wanted, Charged in Female's Disappearance at 14935 South Richmond Avenue
June 9, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the disappearance of a female whose last known location was at 14935 South Richmond Avenue on April 16.
The suspect, Chukwuebuka Nwobodo, 28, is charged murder and tampering with evidence in the 232nd State District Court. A photo of Nwobodo is attached to this news release. He is not in custody.
The victim is identified as Felicia Johnson, 24.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective L. Lange reported:
Ms. Johnson was reported missing from the InterContinental Houston - Medical Center hotel at 6750 Main Street on April 16. The report was made after her cell phone, covered in blood, was found off the roadway in Bear Creek Pioneers Park near Highway 6 and Clay Road. Further investigation revealed Johnson left the hotel in a vehicle in the early morning hours on April 16.
Detectives then identified Nwobodo as a suspect in Johnson’s disappearance. They learned he picked up Johnson from an apartment complex at 3233 Windchase Boulevard and he took her to his apartment at 14935 South Richmond Avenue.
Evidence indicates Nwobodo killed Johnson inside his apartment before disposing her personal effects in Bear Creek Pioneers Park. It is believed he disposed of Johnson’s body at some point within the next few days. At this time, her body has not been recovered.
Nwobodo was subsequently charged in this case today (June 9) and remains currently at-large.
