June 3, 2022 - Houston police have released a surveillance photo of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 4100 North Freeway service road (North Interstate Highway 45) about 9:35 p.m. on Wednesday (June 1).

The suspect is described only as an unknown male in dark clothing with a white mask wrapped around his face. A surveillance photo of the suspect is attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Gabriel Palacios, 38.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook reported:

Mr. Palacios was walking southbound on the sidewalk at the above address when the unknown suspect approached him from behind. The suspect accosted the victim, then shot him. It is believed the suspect took items from the victim and then fled the scene on foot southbound along the sidewalk.
