July 25, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male at 12300 Fondren Road about 10 p.m. on Saturday (July 23).  

The suspect, Cedric Brown, 23, is charged murder in the 183rd State District Court.  A booking photo of Brown is attached to this news release.  

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Hernandez and A. Ferrell reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a business parking lot at the above address and found a deceased male with gunshot wounds.  A preliminary investigation and evidence indicated a male wearing dark clothes who fled southbound on Fondren after the shooting.  

Further investigation identified Brown as the suspect in this case and the person fleeing the scene.  Brown was arrested and admitted to shooting the victim.  Brown was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
