January 20, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 8900 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) about 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 19).

The suspect, Bryan Keith Rone (b/m, 37), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 209th State District Court.  A booking photo of Rone is attached to this news release.

The identity of the male victim, 36, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Roberson reported:

Rone was driving a gray Mercedes Benz GL westbound at the above address when he failed to maintain a single lane and struck the median.  The vehicle flipped and the passenger (victim) was ejected.  Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. 

Rone was treated at an area hospital for minor injuries and showed signs of intoxication.  He was subsequently charged and transported to jail.
