January 19, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 6800 New York Street about 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 18).

The victim, 17, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers A. Alobaidi and A. Chheav reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting at the above address and were advised by the victim that he was walking to a nearby gas station when someone inside a black sedan drove up and fired a shot at him. The victim was struck in the upper back and the suspect vehicle fled the scene.  Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.

At this time, there is no suspect description or motive in the shooting.
