Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 400 Little York

January 12, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 400 Little York Road about 7:10 p.m. on Monday (January 10).  

The suspect, Sergio A. Davila-Rodriguez (H/m, 28), is charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter in the 262nd State District Court.  A booking photo of Davila-Rodriguez is not available at this time, as he remains hospitalized with injuries suffered in the crash.

Two victims, an adult male and an adult female, were pronounced dead at the scene.  Their identities are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeants P. Lee and S. Jewell and Senior Police Officer S. Le reported:

The suspect, Davila-Rodriguez, was driving a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck westbound at the above address when he possibly lost control of the vehicle, struck a curb, and then went into the eastbound traffic lane.  The Dodge struck a blue Kia Rio head-on, pushing the Kia  into another lane of traffic where it was then struck by a white Ford F-450 tow truck.

The pickup truck's female passenger was ejected from the vehicle when it rolled over.  She and the male driver of the Kia died at the scene. 

Davila-Rodriguez was transported to an area hospital where he was subsequently charged for his role in this incident.
