February 7, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a female that occurred at 4801 Jaremese Street about 4:20 a.m. on Saturday (February 5).

The suspect, Brittany Brown, 34, is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court.  A booking photo of Brown is attached to this news release. 

The identity of the female victim, 30, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives P. Pak, H. Horne and J. Wallschlaeger reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment at the above address.  Upon arrival, officers met with a juvenile who stated the victim had suffered a gunshot wound.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The juvenile told officers she was asleep when the shooting occurred and did not witness the incident.

Further investigation identified Brown as the suspect in this case and, on Sunday (February 6), she was arrested without incident and subsequently charged for her role.
