December 27, 2022 - Houston police have released surveillance video of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 4131 Bennington Street about 2:10 p.m. last Friday (December 23).

The suspect is described only as a black male. Surveillance video and picture of the suspect are attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Dontray Darnel Jefferson, 34.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Dudley and K. Heaverlo reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of a business at the above address and found Mr. Jefferson suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Investigators learned Jefferson was involved in a brief dispute with the suspect before the shooting.
