August 30, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 4200 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 12:05 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male, 30, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dunn and Officer R. Guzman reported:

The driver of a grey Toyota Sienna was traveling northbound on the Gulf Freeway when the male stepped onto the main lanes of the freeway and into on-coming traffic. As the male attempted to cross the freeway on foot, he was struck by the Sienna. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Sienna, who remained at the scene, showed no signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.

The investigation is on-going.
