Arnold and Officer J. Carriker reported: HPD patrol officers were dispatched to calls involving a male pedestrian on the Southwest Freeway between Westpark and Bissonnet. When officers arrived, they observed the victim lying in the middle of the freeway. It appears that he was hit several times. The first vehicle to have contact with the victim, a blue Chevy Silverado, immediately pulled over to the shoulder. The driver of a Mustang, who did not strike the victim, also pulled over to provide a witness statement. The driver of the Chevy Silverado stated that the male was running on the shoulder of the freeway before he suddenly ran into traffic.
