August 19, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 8100 Leonora about 1:35 a.m. on December 11, 2019.

The suspect, Terry Lange, 30, is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court. He is currently in custody in Bexar County, Texas. A 2019 Harris County booking photo of Lange is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the death of Samuel Dawn Johnson, 49.

HPD Homicide Division Detective M. Barrow and J. Caten reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address after residents reported hearing multiple gunshots. Mr. Johnson was found inside his apartment but appeared to have been shot outside his apartment.

Further investigation identified Lange as the suspect in this case. He was subsequently charged on Friday (August 19), and remains in custody in Bexar County.
