August 12, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of at least one other man at 8501 Broadway Street about 1:35 a.m. on Thursday (August 11).

The identity of the deceased victim, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The other wounded male, 26, was transported to an area hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Persad and M. Providence reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers provided medical assistance until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived on scene. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased.

A preliminary investigation indicated an argument escalated to a physical fight, during which more than one person was shot. The second wounded male was transported to a hospital.

The investigation is continuing.
